Hawkins County: Superintendent Appreciation Day Celebrations

Bulls Gap School

We honored Mr. Steve Starnes by presenting a $25 check to Operation Christmas Child in his name. Operation Christmas Child was sponsored by FCA at our school. Click here for the photos.


Carter’s Valley Elementary School

We celebrated Superintendent Appreciation Day on Nov. 30th when Director Starnes came to visit. Our school had a contest between grade levels to see who could bring in the most money and pajamas for those in need. Click here for the photos.


Church Hill Elementary School

Church Hill Elementary School’s Food Drive in honor of Director Steve Starnes was a huge success. Thanks to the generous donations of our students we were able to fill 18 food boxes. Each box included a turkey or ham and went to a family from our school. Click here for the photos.


Church Hill Intermediate School

We celebrated our “Lone Ranger” Superintendent with a lunch and a food drive to help stock our local food pantry. Students brought in cans and other foods in a contest to see which classroom could bring in the most food. Click here for the photos.


Church Hill Middle School

The “A” team at CHMS took monetary donations for the purchase of Food City gift cards for needy families in our school. Click here for the photos.


Clinch School

In honor of Superintendent Day, we chose to collect coins for Second Harvest Food Bank. The seniors spearheaded the fund raising event. Money was collected and counted by them. A competition was put into place to encourage participation. Click here for the photos.


Hawkins Elementary School

For superintendent’s day our students and staff collected 1,579 canned and boxed food items for our family resource center in Mr. Starnes honor. This food will be given out to students and families of our county. Click here for the photos.


Joseph Rogers Primary School

During the month of November we held a canned food drive for our counties Family Resource Center.  We conducted the drive to honor our Director of Schools, Mr. Steve Starnes. Click here for the photos.


Keplar Elementary School

McPheeters Bend Elementary School

Mcpheeters Bend held a food drive in honor of Mr. Starnes. All food will be donated to the Church Hill Food Pantry. Click here for the photos.


Mooresburg Elementary School

Mooresburg G-Force encourage each class to collect Treaure for our local Mooresburg Community Center in honor of Mr. Starnes.  Everyday for a week, the G-Force members encouraged their classes to fill up their treasure box with coins. Click here for the photos.


Mount Carmel Elementary School

MCES collected coins as treasure to share with our community in honor of Mr. Starnes.  Our goal was to collect $200 to help with Thanksgiving meals for families in need.  Click here for the photos.


Pathways Alternative School

We had a Great Day. The students made poster. We served Mr. Starnes a Cajun Style lunch. Click here for the photos.


Rogersville Middle School

To honor Steve Starnes, RMS did a coat and warm clothing drive throughout the month of November.  I am happy to say, the Hawkins County REsource Center has more clothes to go through and give out to those in need. Click here for the photos.


Surgoinsville Elementary School – We held our third annual Turkey Teacher competition in honor of Mr. Starnes, Director of Schools.  For three weeks, kids brought in their spare change and dropped it in the buckets of their favorite teacher(s) to cast their votes. Click here for the photos.


Surgoinsville Middle School

For superintendent appreciation day SMSG-force team collected change and made a donation to Alzheimer’s foundation. The G-force also created a video and posters. Click here for the photos.


Volunteer High School

Our environmental club RAIN conducted a school wide food drive in honor of our Director Steve Starnes. All of the food was donated to the Family Resource Center. Thank you Director Starnes for all you do for Hawkins county schools. Click here for the photos.
